Laser eye surgery
We are proud to announce that have just entered a partnership With Advanced Vision Care in London's Harley Street. After much deliberation we have found one of the best Ophthalmic Surgeons in the UK to provide our patients with Laser Eye surgery.
What is Laser Eye Surgery (LSE) Laser eye surgery is a revelation in the world of optics, and it can be a revelation in your world too. LSE, is a procedure which manipulates the Inter-occular-lens of the eye to correct refractive problems - effectively removing your prescription. Contrary to common belief, laser eye surgery must be carried out by a registered Ophthalmic surgeon, not an Optometrist as many people believe.
How much does it cost? There are several treatment options availible, each with their own pricing structure. The price depends mainly on the complexity of the surgery, as well as the effect on the patient. Price shouldn't be a factor when choosing laser surgery. The difference in price between the treatments is relatively small, but the relative difference in comfort is massive.
The treatments
Lasek & Lasik There a few small differences between lasek and lasik, there is no price difference between the two treatments, so personal circumstance is the main decider. Your surgeon/optician will help you decide which is best for you. Both procedures have short recovery times (under one week, with LASIK being as short as two days.
PRK - Photorefractive keratectomy This procedure is often offered at extremely low prices (e.g. £400 per eye). The reason for this is that the healing time is in months as opposed to days, and the relative success is limited. On top of this only one eye can be done at a time. Advanced vision care do not offer PRK laser surgery for these exact reasons, as they feel it doesn't meet their high standards of care.
Wavefront technology Wavefront technology, is not a different type of surgery, it is however an add-on to Lasek and Lasik. It refers to the scanning technology which scans the cornea before correction. The technology is much more advanced and even removes small abnormalities on the cornea tat didn't majorly affect sight. However wavefront assisted laser surgery at Advanced vision care has a satisfaction rate of 98.8% - so it really is worth it.
